About

Hi.  My name is Mick, and I am here to share my excitement about space exploration.

I believe we are entering a new phase of space exploration, and we will need people from all backgrounds to devote their careers to spaceflight. This blog is a way to both satisfy those with the "space bug" and to introduce the passion to newcomers.

Space will eventually become how we save humanity.

Polluting industries need somewhere to go so we can save Earth. People need somewhere to go to feed the urge to explore and to establish new places to keep humanity safe from planet-wide catastrophe. We need a frontier to thrive. We always have.

I grew up in the Apollo years, and I am steeped in that era's energy and enthusiasm for human space exploration. I also follow all of JPL's embarrassing list of successful uncrewed missions. And, I write a blog and kid-centric books about barely fictional space topics.

If you MUST know, my bio looks like this...

Mick is a writer and grandfather. His work has appeared in numerous consumer magazines, newspapers, and literary journals.

His background is in Computer Science, Engineering, and Math. His passion for space exploration led him to write and illustrate the Rocket Team series of children’s books featuring a young astronaut named Ramone. Ramone and his robot pal, Pip, are members of the international Rocket Team. The international, inclusive nature of the Rocket Team is foremost in his mind.

"I want to give children from all backgrounds a positive message about learning and space exploration."
